OUR mission

We inform, support, and take action for the Whitnall community to build a better future for all students, teachers, staff, and citizens.

OUR VALUES

Equity: All people are treated justly and in accordance with their diverse backgrounds.


Civility: Members of the community have the right to be treated with respect, dignity, and consideration.


Safety: All students have the right to a safe learning environment regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, ability, gender, or sexual orientation.


Compassion: Understanding and responding to the unique circumstances of the community.


Transparency: Open, honest, and clear communications.


Empowerment: Members of the community have knowledge and the ability to act on it.

OUR GOALS

  • Organize and grow a network of community members who share the WREN vision, mission, and values to achieve these goals.
  • Elect and support candidates and officials who share the WREN vision, mission, and values.
  • Build relationships with existing school board members and other local officials.
  • Attend local meetings, read local news and posts, and talk to the community to stay informed.
  • Inform the community in a concise and simple way so they are empowered to take action.
  • Find solutions and take action when there are problems that need to be solved by working with the community, the school board, and other local leaders.
  • Speak at meetings and other local events to support the WREN values and oppose policies, proposals, and speech which is not in the best interest of Whitnall students, teachers, and staff.
  • Advocate for policies that support marginalized community members. Oppose policies that harm marginalized groups and go against the WREN vision, mission, and values.
  • Hold publicly accountable current elected officials when they act in ways that go against the WREN vision, mission, and values by informing the public, speaking out, and voting.
